Five Fun Art Activities at Extra Curricular
Extra Curricular isn’t just about the main stage acts. We’ve got fun for the whole family around Waterloo Public Square when we take it over on May 28th. We’ve got three visual art projects and workshops for you to get involved with. Bring the kids!
Extra Curricular runs from 12 noon until 5pm. As well as art activities, we will have music, a Super Smash Brothers tourney, free tea from David’s Tea and more!
We Are Waterloo Portrait Project
Thanks to the generous support of the City of Waterloo, there will be an artist teaching you how to draw self portraits at Extra Curricular. Drop by their workshop area (beside the Super Smash Brothers) to learn all about self portraits, draw one for yourself, and if you’re a resident of Waterloo: have it displayed publicly! Either way, you get to take home what you create. Find out more.
ARTSHINE is a Mobile Art School run as a Social Enterprise. They offer art programs for people of all ages from in school programs, to summer camps for kids, to team building and Art n Wine sessions for adults.
They will be at Extra Curricular with an instructor demonstrating their kid-friendly content and workshops. Check them out at http://www.artshine.ca/.
Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery Youth Council
eyeGO loves to partner with local youth groups, and we’re very pleased to welcome the KWAG Youth Council to Extra Curricular. They’ll be taking photos, making instagram-style filters for neat phone photography, and telling you about the awesome programming you can get involved with at KWAG.
Button Factory Arts – BUTTON MAKER!
It wouldn’t be an eyeGO event without a button maker. So thank you, Button Factory, for bringing one! Woo! Everyone at eyeGO gets a ridiculous amount of joy from making buttons, and we hope you will too. Make a bunch, pin them to things. Find out more about the Button Factory.
Face Painting From Bre Creative
Drop by between 1 and 4 for face painting fun from Bre Creative! Breanne is a fantastic young entrepreneur, and we know you’ll love her face-painting awesomeness as much as we do.
Extra Curricular is a free event, and all of our art activities are offered complimentary to any community members and visitors who want to join in the fun. Our only ticketed programming is the Super Smash Brothers Tournament, which has a $5 pot buy-in for players (anyone can watch!) Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like more information about the tournament.
Check out the poster for the whole event!
